Colin Walker (Coromandel Seed Savers), Bob Corker (Koanga), and John Massey (TOS Seed Savers) will collaborate to apply for funding through Soil & Health Ass. NZ (SHANZ) for the national seed register.
Roy Shackleton, Iris Huebler, and Swani Harris will work together on the Register.
Colin Walker. We agree that Colin should approach S&H National Councillor Derek Hayward to formally ask him what requirements S&H have in order to act as an umbrella. Dean Reynolds has informed us that S&H agrees in principle with our proposal, and are happy to act as an umbrella.
John Massey has access to a computer now, and in the interim, has agreed to continue to communicate with interested parties.
Once funding is received, applications would be sought for the two roles:
We agree with the need to add photos to the register for identification purposes (suggested at TON meeting), and suggest that organisation of this would fall within the role of SSA coordinator. We encourage the individual groups to collate photos of the plants in their exchange, so that these can be included in the database at a later stage.
